Questions on Visiting Tree of Life Church
“Where do I take my children?”
Bring your children with you to the church service for 10am, our church is family orientated and we welcome new children. All children who attend need to be pre-registered before 10.30am and you and your child will receive a numbered sticker. At 11:15am after the end of the worship we let all the pre-school and primary school children come forward for prayer and release them with their workers to leave to go to another room (Screen 8), where qualified and trained (and police checked!) helpers will have a fun time looking at the Bible, playing games and singing songs. Our children's sepervisor can answer any questions you may have. You are welcome to come out with your children and see what goes on in our Children's Church whenever you want.
Secondary school age children generally stay in for all of the service - and enjoy it. We have a group for 10-20 year olds on a First Sunday of the month just for them meeting at 11am in MacDonalds Cook Road in Dagenham. Please ask Lee Collingwood if you want to know more about this.
“How long are the services going to be?”
Our services are 2 hours long. They finish at 12 noon when you are more than welcome to stay and have a tea or coffee, biscuits or cake.
“What should I expect when I get there?”
We start at 10am with some singing, which you are welcome to join in with. We have some excellent musicians, often with recording artists playing at the front. The words are generally on a screen at the front. This generally lasts for 30-40 minutes. Then we have some time to talk about what is going on in the church calendar, and receive an offering. There is no obligation for anyone to give.
About 11:15am we let the children go off to Children's Church, and then Pastor Benjamin will speak about how the Bible applies to our lives. His teaching is clear, helpful and he is very engaging.
“How many times do I have to stand up and sit down?”
That's entirely up to you. We don't mind if you sit down the whole time. We normally start the service standing up and then it's up to you though most people prefer to stand during the singing.
“Can I listen to a service?”
You can listen to any of Benjamin's messages online free of charge. The link for the most recent messages is here.
"Can I watch a service?"
Yes - our services are filmed and then you can watch them at www.treeoflifechurch.tv. Ben is also on Revelation TV every Wednesday at 10am, Thursday at 20:00
How Do I Dress?
That's entirely up to you. Some people dress smart, others more casual. We do not hold a dress code and you will not feel out of place whatever you wear. Pastor Benjamin generally wears jeans and a shirt.
